Opening Day is here at last!

The 2020 MLB season gets underway tonight with a premier matchup, as the New York Yankees travel to the nation’s capital to face the reigning World Series-champion Washington Nationals.

Gerrit Cole will take the mound for the Yankees and will oppose Nationals ace Max Scherzer.

Dr. Anthony Fauci will throw out the first pitch.

UPDATE:

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Clayton Kershaw on the injured list with back stiffness on Thursday, just hours before he was supposed to take the mound for his opening day start.

Dodgers right-hander Dustin May has been recalled to fill Kershaw’s roster spot.

Mookie Betts, who agreed to a 12-year, $365 million dollar contract on Wednesday, will make his much anticipated Dodgers debut.
