Jayson Stark is reporting on his blog at ESPN, that Mets GM Omar Minaya was scheduled to meet with super agent, Scott Boras to discuss the contract situations with Oliver Perez and Derek Lowe.

He writes,

Now that the Mets have their closer vacancy filled, they’re turning their attention to starting pitching. They have a meeting scheduled Wednesday afternoon with Scott Boras to discuss both Derek Lowe and Oliver Perez.

In the same post, he adds that the Mets are also planning to meet with the agents for pitchers Randy Wolf and Jon Garland, but does not mention if those meetings were scheduled for tonight or tomorrow.

I’m really starting to get the feeling that Oliver Perez is inching his way back to Queens.

Of course, given the choice I would rather have Derek Lowe, but I don’t know if the Mets have the stomach to fight off both the Yankees and Phillies for his services.
