Oliver Perez is no stranger to days off.

As we all know, the Mets would not use Oliver Perez out of the bullpen a lot during the season, thus giving him plenty of time off to ponder his predicament.

It appears the Los Tomateros de Culiacan are taking the same approach with Oliver Perez, as the Amazin’s did.

Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that after a “12-day layoff”, Oliver Perez finally got a chance to pitch.  Last night, Oliver Perez went 5 innings, gave up 3 runs (2 of the 3 runs were Solo HR’s), 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts against Caneros de los Mochis.

After last nights start, Oliver Perez is now 3-3, with a 5.18 ERA, and has 26 strikeouts to go with 23 walks in 33 innings pitched in winter ball.
