There are always injury updates in Mets land, and Sunday brought a couple bits about some much-needed reinforcements.

Noah Syndergaard

Per Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated, Noah Syndergaard threw off a mound in Philadelphia Sunday morning. Along with throwing off a mound, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com said that Synergaard was also tossing around a medicine ball from the slope of the mound.

The Mets said Thursday they expect Syndergaard to throw to live batters “soon.”

José Martínez

José Martínez began a rehab assignment in Port St. Lucie with the St. Lucie Mets on Sunday.

Martinez went 0-2 with a strikeout through three innings. He played all three innings in right field in his first rehab game, and Rojas said he’ll get time in both corner outfield spots during his rehab.

Francisco Lindor

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reported that Francisco Lindor continued baseball activities on Sunday in Philadelphia as he continues to rehab a strained right oblique.

He’s been taking grounders on the infield, swinging very lightly and, as seen below, his own version of catch that consists of contorting your body.

Javier Báez

Mets shortstop Javier Báez exited Sunday’s game against the Phillies with hip tightness. He was replaced with Jonathan Villar.

Luis Rojas said he is “day-to-day” and the team will see how he is feeling after treatment ahead of Tuesday’s game.
