I thought I’d pass this information along to the MMO community.
This Saturday, September 17, Noah Syndergaard will be appearing at the Modell’s in Times Square at 11:30 am. Syndergaard will be signing a player branded card, which will be distributed by Modell’s employees.
There will be 100 passes distributed to fans in line 30 minutes prior to the signing, and Modell’s fine print strictly prohibits any outside memorabilia at this event. And only one autograph per person.
Syndergaard, 24, is having a sensational sophomore season, posting a record of 13-8 with a 2.43 ERA (3rd best in baseball as of Thursday night), and 205 strikeouts in 174 innings pitched. Thor is in consideration for the NL Cy Young Award this season, along with the Cubs’ Kyle Hendricks and Jon Lester, the Giants’ Madison Bumgarner, the Nationals’ Max Scherzer, and the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw.
Syndergaard has made tons of improvement from his rookie season to 2016, posting a better K/9 (9.96 to 10.60), HR/9 (1.14 to 0.52), ERA (3.24 to 2.43), FIP (3.25 to 2.25), and swinging strike percentage (12.2 to 14.5%). Syndergaard has embraced the role of ace while his comrades Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Steven Matz, and Zack Wheeler are all dealing with injuries and or working back from them.
Syndergaard made a similar appearance last year in November, pairing with deGrom to meet fans at Macy’s Herald Square at the Buffalo David Britton shop in the men’s department. That appearance was coupled with purchasing $100 worth of Buffalo apparel to meet and take pictures with the two aces. Syndergaard’s solo signing this Saturday is free of charge.
