colon-syndergaard-2

Terry Collins has the postseason on his mind. This afternoon at Citi Field, the Mets’ manager told reporters that the rotation is set up so that right-hander Noah Syndergaard is in line to start the National League Wild Card game on Wednesday, October 5.

In two starts against the Giants this season, Syndergaard is 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA. In 13.2 innings he allowed seven hits, four walks and struck out 12 batters.

In his only start against the Cardinals, Syndergaard allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight batters.

If the Mets win the Wild Card game and advance to the National League Division Series, veteran right-hander Bartolo Colon will start Game 1 against the Chicago Cubs.

In two starts against the Cubs this season, Colon allowed eight runs on 12 hits and five walks in 10.1 innings with six strikeouts. Three of the hits were home runs.
