The Mets announced on Thursday that an MRI showed no ligament damage in the right elbow of Jacob deGrom.
He is going to play catch tomorrow, throw a bullpen on Saturday and is on schedule to make his next start on Monday.
Jacob deGrom started for the Mets on Wednesday night in their 7-0 loss and was cruising through four innings against the Atlanta Braves. However, he was pulled from the game in the fifth.

DeGrom apparently hurt himself on a swing in the bottom of the third inning when he struck out swinging on a slider from Sean Newcomb, “He said, ‘You know what, my arm hurts on that last swing so I’m just not going to swing the rest of the night,’” Callaway said after the game. “He said it feels fine throwing, he hadn’t had any issues throwing. So he went back out.”
The Mets right-hander pitched a scoreless fourth inning though you could see him wince after a Nick Markakis single and said the pain and gone to his right bicep as well. He would immediately head to the tunnel and be replaced on the mound by Paul Sewald.
DeGrom was having his best start of a season to date as he had a 3-0 record to go along with a 2.06 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts coming into the night.
The 28-year old had a shutout through four innings in which he struck out six batters and allowed only two hits to lower his ERA to 1.87. That also extended his scoreless streak to 18 1/3 innings.
Callaway mentioned Matt Harvey and Corey Oswalt as options to replace deGrom in the rotation on Wednesday night though nothing official has been announced at this time.
