I apologize for the two week delay in NL East Reports, as I had been traveling with limited internet access. And then I come home to find Wright on the DL.

Atlanta Braves: (7-3; -6.5)

The Atlanta Braves finished a series win over the Mets, and will return home for a series against the Marlins. Braves top draft pick Mike Minor made his debut for the Rome Braves, and he pitched two scoreless innings. Minor was taken 7th overall, and received the largest signing bonus ever given to a Brave.

Florida Marlins: (6-4; -6.5)

The Florida Marlins lost two of three to the Houston Astros and will head to Atlanta to face the Braves. Currently, Jorge Cantu is iffy with a sore neck, and acquisition Nick Johnson is injured again, but the Marlins don’t want to put him on the DL…yet.

Philadelphia Phillies: (8-2; Leader)

The Phillies finished a three game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and will Head to Citi Field this weekend. Cole Hamels will face Mike Pelfrey tonight, and Pedro Martinez returns to New York this Sunday.

Washington Nationals: (4-6; -27.5)

The Nationals will face the Milwaukee Brewers after they were just swept by the Colorado Rockies. Tonight is Stephen Stasburg night, as some tickets are selling for $1 to come in five hours early to watch the introduction of Stasburg at Nationals Park at 2:00. The Nationals “lead” in the Bryce Harper sweepstakes has shrunk to 4.5 over the Kansas City Royals. The Mets are 13 games “back.”
