Over the SNY broadcast Wednesday night, the Mets announced that Brandon Nimmo is suffering from inflammation in his neck after he got his MRI results back tonight.
As a result, the team plans to let Nimmo rest for a few days and will decide on how to proceed from there
Nimmo, 26, was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to May 21 before the game because of the neck issues that have been plaguing him since April.
The outfielder, as our own Michael Mayer notes, was hitting .241/.388/.463 before he first went down with the injury last month.
However, the entirety of his season has been quite disappointing as he has hit .200/.344/.323 with three home runs and 14 RBI to give himself a lowly 93 wRC+ and 0.3 WAR.
