Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo will undergo further medical tests, including additional cardiac evaluations on Thursday according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

According to reports, the Mets are planning a status report on Nimmo’s condition later on Thursday.

Nimmo was a late scratch from Wednesday’s game against the Houston Astros because he needed additional cardiac testing.

Nimmo, 26, is coming off an injury-plagued 2019 season. He missed most of the year with back and neck injuries, but nothing to do with his heart. In 69 games last season, Nimmo slashed .221/.375/.407 with eight home runs and 29 RBIs.

In other Mets news, Seth Lugo completed fielding drills about a week after fracturing his pinky toe. He is scheduled to throw live BP on Saturday per Tim Healey of Newsday.

Lugo, who was part of the Mets’ starting rotation in 2017, was an integral part of the team’s bullpen last year.

In 2019, he appeared in a career-high 61 games and finished with an impressive 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 104 strikeouts in 80 innings. It marked the third time in his four years in the major leagues he finished with an ERA under 3.00 and WHIP under 1.10.
