It has been widely reported that the Pittsburgh Pirates are shopping star outfielder Andrew McCutchen after having the worst season of his eight year career.

According to Stephen Nesbitt of Pittsburgh Post-Gazettethe likelihood of a trade is increasing with the winters meetings right around the corner.

Stephen also says that the Pirates have had discussions with the Washington Nationals, Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners.

The Pirates are reportedly looking for a prospect heavy package for McCutchen and are targeting Nationals’ top prospect Victor Robles according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Robles, 19, is the 10th best prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline (one spot ahead of Mets top prospect Amed Rosario).

Jayson Stark of ESPN is reporting that talks between the Pirates and Nats have ramped up and that a deal could get done today.
