According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Mets have signed Adrian Gonzalez to a minimum salary deal, pending a physical.
The Twins signed reliever Addison Reed to a two year deal worth $17 million according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports says Reed took less money to play in the Midwest and added that Reed had a three-year offer on the table. The Mets had previously shown interest in him.
I would have loved Reed back but at the same time, the Mets found Reed in 2015 while he was at his low point in his career from a team just looking to dump him off. The Mets have to find similar value in the bargain bin again this off-season.
