Quite a bit of news so let’s delve into it.

Neil Walker and Jay Bruce are unlikely to return according to Marc Carig of Newsday. Carig was on Blue and Orange Thing, The 7 Line Army’s podcast, and said it was unlikely but also won’t rule it out.

Between the two, I think Walker seems more likely. Walker’s market is fairly limited being a second baseman and I think he’d make more sense for the Mets than Bruce. Walker can play third and first on top of playing second and he’s historically been a better hitter than Bruce.

Miguel Sano was accused of sexual assault by a team photographer, Betsy Bissen. She also said first base coach, Butch Davis, tried asking her for her number and continuously sitting on her lap in the dugout (which he denies). Sano grabbed Bissen’s wrist and walked around the apple store with her after an autograph signing and afterwards, he tried kissing her despite her resistance.

In her words, “He then leaned down and tried to kiss me, more than once.  Every time he did, I said no and kept pulling back.  I was in a squatted position with my wrist throbbing.” The Twins released a statement on Sano.

Sano has publicly denied the allegations.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN says Major League Baseball will be investigating Sano for this. If Sano is found of any wrongdoing it’s time for MLB to stop being soft on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
