Good morning, Mets fans!

Today Jason Vargas will look to extend his impressive Spring Training as he’ll face Sandy Alcantara and the Marlins at 1:10 p.m. Vargas, rather surprisingly, has emerged as one of the Mets’ top pitchers this spring with his 1.08 ERA. The game will be streamed on WCBS 880.

Yesterday, Steven Matz couldn’t get out of the second inning as the Nationals went yard on him four times. His spring training ERA rose to a ghastly 10.97 mark. Edwin Diaz also struggled, giving up two long balls in his inning of work.

However, Luis Guillorme continued his hot spring, collecting another hit and an RBI; he’s slashing .393/.500/.607 this spring and is making a legitimate case to be the backup infielder on the Mets’ Opening Day Roster.
