The New York Mets arrive in Atlanta for a pivotal three game weekend series against the rival Braves. Fresh off a walk-off win and a five RBI night, courtesy of Eduardo Escobar, the Mets currently sit one game ahead in the NL East standings and will send Jacob deGrom to toe the slab against Max Fried. As reported by Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets plan to call up top prospect Francisco Álvarez. Listed as the No. 1 prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline, Álvarez will be activated for the upcoming series vs. Atlanta.

Jacob Resnick of SNY tweets that the Mets have signed 17-year-old outfielder Randy Guzman as an international free agent. He is the younger brother of MLB veteran Ronald Guzman.
