Noah Syndergaard was back on the mound on Wednesday with Low-A St. Lucie and had a strong outing in his first rehab assignment onn his way back to the Mets.

According to Andy Martino of SNY, Yennsy Diaz, who the Mets acquired in the Steven Matz trade, is expected to be recalled by the Mets from Triple-A Syracuse.
Noah Syndergaard was back on the mound in a live game for the first time in 598 days. According to Michael Mayer of Metsmerized, Syndergaard threw four scoreless innings for Low-A St. Lucie against the Palm Beach Cardinals. He allowed just one hit, no runs, no walks, and struck out five over the course of 44 pitches (36 strikes) thrown on Wednesday in Palm Beach, FL. His fastball topped out at 95 mph and per Mayer, his curveball looked sharp as well. Photos included in this tweet are from Ed Delaney of Metsmerized.
Jacob Resnick of SNY reported that the Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Akeem Bostick who was pitching with the independent Kansas City Monarchs to a minor league contract. Bostick was signed by the Rangers in the second round of the 2013 MLB draft. He reached Triple-A with the Astros and spent Spring Training 2021 with the Cardinals.
Per Mike Puma of the New York Post, Pete Alonso was not available to the media following the Mets’ Wednesday night loss to the Braves. Luis Rojas state he was dealing with soreness in his left wrist. An X-Ray was negative and he will be reassessed on Friday.
