Good morning, Mets fans!

If you’re just waking up: No, Max Scherzer is not a Met. Not yet, at least.

The hot stove has been scorching for the Mets since last Friday and it is still sizzling. The team is waiting to see if Scherzer will decide to sign with them.

Andy Martino of SNY reported the Mets offer to Scherzer is for $42 million a year over three or four seasons.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported the Mets were close to finalizing a multi-year deal with Scherzer, but nothing official has been announced since.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported the Mets are hopeful Scherzer will ultimately decide to sign with the team. Heyman originally said that Scherzer could make his decision as soon as Sunday night, so it could happen any minute now. Buckle up, Mets fans.
