Good Morning, Mets fans! On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Rays held on in game two to even up the series at 1-1.

Although he did not make it out of the fifth inning, Blake Snell joined the great Sandy Koufax as the second pitcher in World Series history to record eight-plus strikeouts while allowing no-hits through the first four frames.

Now, let’s check out what else went on around the league yesterday!

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Steve Cohen apparently has another obstacle to get through when it comes to receiving ownership approval.

Via the 2006 stadium lease agreement, Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio has the power to prohibit the sale of the team to a “prohibited person,” which Cohen does not fall under since he was never charged with a crime, but his former hedge-fund company pled guilty to securities fraud and wire fraud back in 2013 and had to pay $1.8 billion in fines.

While USA Today had the initial report, Deesha Thosar of The New York Daily News did some digging of her own and discovered that it was in fact Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf, the only owner on the Commissioner’s eight-person ownership committee to vote NO to Cohen earlier this week.

Thosar says sources tell her that this is just another last ditch effort by those against Cohen taking over ownership, and that Reinsdorf’s objection is unlikely to prevent the sale.

Wednesday marked the five-year anniversary of when the Mets won the 2015 National League pennant over the Chicago Cubs to complete a four-game sweep at Wrigley Field, tweet per the team’s official account.
