Good morning, Mets fans!

Today, the Washington Nationals will battle Zack Wheeler at First Data Field. Wheeler pitched a three-inning, five-run clunker against Washington in his last appearance. The game will be shown on SNY and 710WOR at 6:10 P.M.

The Mets were off yesterday, however there were a couple of prominent players that took part in a minor-league game.

Michael Conforto is seemingly recovered from last year’s shoulder surgery as he struck a couple of home runs off two of the Mets top prospects, David Peterson and Daniel Zamora.

“It’s not so much about the shoulder anymore. It’s getting up, hitting, going out to the field, standing out there, go make some plays then come back and hit again,” Conforto told Fred Kerber of the New York Post.

Jacob deGrom started the game and the minor-leaguers had no chance against him. Mets coaches wanted him to throw 15 pitches in the first inning; he had to pitch against five batters to reach that threshold. When the coaches asked him to work on pitching out of the stretch and placed runners on base in the second inning, he casually picked two of them off.
