Good morning, Mets fans!

Many players took to Twitter Friday to air their grievances with MLB and their handling of the lockout. This came the day the MLBPA announced that they will be declining MLB’s request for a federal mediator.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported that both sides of the table are frustrated at the lack of effort from the other.

Mets pitcher Max Scherzer, who also has a seat at the negotiating table, had arguably the biggest statement of the day. Scherzer took to Twitter and said “We don’t need mediation because what we are offering to MLB is fair for both sides.”

He went on to explain what the players are looking for, and why it makes baseball better.

Former Met Paul Sewald also explained what the players are asking for in more simple terms.

The two weren’t the only ones who took to Twitter Friday, as numerous Major League players used it as a platform to voice their opinion. Alex Wood, James Paxton, Whit Merrifield, Jameson Taillon, and Nicky Lopez, to name a few, all voiced their frustrations with MLB’s handling of the lockout.
