The Phillies have signed utilityman Josh Harrison to a one-year contract worth $2 million, MSM Sports announced. The two-time All-Star appeared in 71 games for the White Sox in 2022, hitting .256/.317/.370 (94 OPS+) with seven homers in 425 plate appearances.

The Mets have signed first baseman Dariel Gomez to a minor league contract for the 2023 season. The 26-year-old spent five seasons in the Cardinals organization before spending the last two seasons in the Mariners system. In 113 games for High-A Everett, Gomez hit .223/.321/.472 with 26 homers, which led the Northwest League. Strikeouts have always been an issue for Gomez, and he struck out 163 times in 409 at-bats in 2022.

He’s also a brother of MLB insider Héctor Gómez, whose other brother Gilbert was hired as the St. Lucie Mets’ manager last month.
