Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday, the 2019 Major League baseball season officially ended as the Washington Nationals captured their first World Series title in team history.

The Nationals also became the first team to win four road games while going winless at home in the World Series in Major League history.

Zack Greinke threw six and a third innings for the Astros and exited with a 2-1 lead with a runner on first in the seventh. Pitching to the first batter he faced, Will Harris surrendered a go-ahead two-run shot off the right field foul pole to Howie Kendrick, which gave the Nats a lead they would never relinquish.

Stephen Strasburg took home the MVP award as he went 2-0 with a 2.51 ERA and 1.047 WHIP. With his win in game six, Strasburg became the first pitcher to go 5-0 in the postseason in MLB history.

Unfortunately, the conclusion of the World Series means the last meaningful baseball game we will watch until Opening Day on March 26th.

Let’s take a look at what else went on around the league Wednesday on the final day of the season.

Is it time for pitchers and catchers to report yet?
