Passan notes that catcher Jonathan Lucroy is in agreement with the Los Angeles Angels on a one-year, $3.35 million deal. Performance bonuses can bring the value of the deal above $4 million.

Jim Callis of MLB.com lists the Mariners as one of the top five most improved farm systems in baseball. The additions of former Mets prospects Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn and Gerson Bautista helped to fix a farm system that ranked near the bottom in baseball.
