FOX Sports‘ Kevin Burkhardt spoke with Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic on what he has been hearing about the 2020 season. Rosenthal explained that there has been some traction regarding the previously rumored Arizona plan where the league would start in three different states: Arizona, Florida, and Texas. He added that there have been discussions to expand on that idea and add more states to that list, given that some areas have been attempting to reopen.

According to Forbes writer Barry M. Bloom, MLB’s plan to play in Iowa at the ‘Field of Dreams’ complex may still happen. With the start of the season still in limbo, the August 13 date for the Yankees versus White Sox game in Dyersville, Iowa, is still on the table. The field is still under construction, so the game could happen as long as the season starts before that day.

Unfortunately, the Cape Cod Baseball League has made the executive decision to cancel their 2020 season. More information on the logistics behind their decision can be found on the league’s website.

MLBTR‘s Jeff Todd wrote about the pending free agent starting pitchers going into the 2020-2021 offseason, with Marcus Stroman, and Michael Wacha being notable names on that list.

1984- In a 2-1 win over the Montreal Expos, Dwight Gooden became the first teenager to strike out ten batters in a major league games since Bert Blyleven in 1970.

2012- David Wright becomes the Mets’ all-time RBI leader with 735 after hitting a two-run homer in the Mets 5-1 victory over the Miami Marlins. That night, he surpassed the former RBI leader in Darryl Strawberry who had 733. Currently, David Wright still holds this record, standing at 940 RBIs across his 12-year Mets career.
