Good morning, Mets fans!

Although there were no formal proposals made, the lead negotiators from MLB and the MLBPA spoke informally yesterday as reported by Michael Silverman of The Boston Globe. Currently, the lockout is 93 days old and there is no word on when the MLBPA and Major League Baseball will meet again. In the meantime, Major League Baseball is looking at implementing a few new rules that have garnered the attention of the public at large.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that MLB wants to implement a ban on shifting fielders, a pitch clock and oversized bases. Nightengale reports that MLB seeks to implement these rules for the 2023 season once they are able to make a proposal to the union before Opening Day. While both sides seek to come to an agreement, baseball fans hope an agreement can come sooner rather than later. For updates and a timeline on the current lockout, check out our thread here to follow along.
