Good Morning Mets Fans. The New York Mets (8-8) look to wash away the bad taste of the last week as they welcome in the division rival Washington Nationals (10-5) for a three-game set. Jacob deGrom will take the ball for the team in the opening game and will be opposed by Tanner Roark.
Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7:10 PM ET start and can be seen on SNY and MLB Network as well as heard on 710 WOR.

The box score from last night may not make you believe Noah Syndergaard had a great night, which is true. He still though put forth a decent game and kept his team in the contest in the 6-4 loss to Philadelphia. He pitched seven innings while allowing five runs, only three of which were earned. He struck out 10 batters and walked none as he looked quite dominant at times. It was his sixth career game with 10 or more strikeouts and no walks. The Mets’ injuries continued to pile on as Yoenis Cespedes left Thursday’s game early due to feeling a “shock” in his left hamstring. The team’s star slugger will be going to get an MRI today and is likely to miss the entire series against division rival Washington. The Mets have already lost Wilmer Flores, Lucas Duda and Travis d’Arnaud to injury this week. It has been a rough few days for the Metropolitans to say the least.
