Happy Memorial Day to all Mets fans out there. Hopefully you have enjoyed a relaxing long weekend with plenty of time to watch Mets baseball. But of course, that is not the meaning of Memorial Day. The Mets finished up an important series against the Dodgers with the attention all across the country. All three matchups were nationally televisized, making all Mets fans yearn for a game called by Gary, Keith and Ron. However, that gave the Amazins an opportunity to win a series against the reigning World Series Champions for all to see!
Shohei Ohtani led off the game with an absolute missle to the second deck in right field, only the second home run allowed by Kodai Senga all season. But the offense responded immediately. The heavily critized superstar Juan Soto hustled out a bobbled ball at third base, reaching first safely with two outs. The baseball overlords respected the hustle, and allowed teammate Pete Alonso to hit a two-run homer, giving the Mets the lead.
An excellent effort across the board from the Mets pitching staff held the Dodgers scorless the rest of the game, helping the Mets take the rubber game in this three game set.
