Good morning, Mets fans!

Carlos Carrasco faced off against Luis Garcia for the Astros on Wednesday. Carrasco only pitched 2 1/3 innings before being removed with back tightness. Alex Horowitz has more on Carrasco’s injury.

Despite a strong day for the Mets’ bullpen, a big first inning for the Astros was too much for the Mets to overcome as they dropped the second game of the series 5-3. Dan Quiñones has a more complete recap of Wednesday’s game. Even though it was only a two-game series, it was technically the first time that the Mets have been swept this season.

Now, it is time for the morning briefing.
