Good morning, Mets fans!

For the first time this season, the Mets have lost a game. On Sunday, they coughed away a 2-1 lead, giving up three runs in the eighth to fall 4-2 to the Nationals.

While Pete Alonso‘s throwing errors played a significant factor in the loss, many arguments broke out about Buck Showalter‘s bullpen management. After the game, Trevor May said he was unavailable, while Seth Lugo was only available if the Mets had a lead. Additionally, Adam Ottavino said there was “no reason to be” unavailable.

They still took three out of four over the Nationals and will look to bounce back today against the Phillies (2-1) at 6:45 p.m. ET. Taijuan Walker will be making his first start of the season.
