Good morning, Mets fans!

Rain gone and a lovely day for baseball, the Mets and Cardinals played a doubleheader to begin the four game series at Citi Field.

The Mets came out victorious in game one off the back of Trevor Williams, who pitched four solid innings, to hold the Cardinals at bay. Jeff McNeil, Dominic Smith and Travis Jankowski got the Mets on the board and Edwin Diaz held the fort by getting the save.

Game two served a different platter, as the Mets could not keep the St.Louis bats at bay, even with a Jeff McNeil game-tying hit in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Cardinals took the night cap late to split the doubleheader.
