On Saturday, the Mets defeated the Royals by a score of 4-1. Jacob deGrom had another dazzling outing, lasting seven innings, giving up just one earned run on three hits and two walks while collecting five strikeouts. DeGrom lowered his season ERA to 2.61.
The bottom third of the lineup came through for the Mets, with Luis Guillorme, Juan Lagares and Aaron Altherr all collecting five hits total and scoring all four runs.
Today, the Mets look to win their series against the Royals with Zack Wheeler on the mound against Glenn Sparkman. The game will be on at 2:15 p.m.EST and can be seen on SNY.
