The Mets reassigned Jett Williams, Eric Orze, Drew Gilbert, Kevin Parada, Christian Scott, Cam Robinson, Danny Young, and Mike Vasil to minor league camp. They also optioned Luisangel Acuña and Kolton Ingram to Triple-A Syracuse.

The Mets later reassigned Dominic Hamel to minor league camp following Sunday’s game against the Astros. Hamel made his spring training debut in the game, recording one out before the sky opened up, forcing play to be stopped. The 25-year-old finished 2023 as the Mets’ 16th-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, and he posted a 3.85 ERA with 160 strikeouts in 124 innings for Double-A Binghamton.

The Diamondbacks have signed veteran shortstop Elvis Andrus to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training. The two-time All-Star spent 2023 with the White Sox, batting .251/.304/.358 (81 OPS+) with six homers and 12 steals over 406 plate appearances.
