Heading into the home stretch of the minor league season, the Mets have promoted RHP Jonah Tong, SS/2B/CF Jett Williams, OF Carson Benge, and 1B/COF Ryan Clifford to Triple-A Syracuse from Double-A Binghamton. Outfielder A.J. Ewing is one of the more notable prospects helping to fill the Binghamton roster with his promotion to Double-A Binghamton. Daniel Wexler on Twitter reported the promotions.

After getting off to a 5-0 lead in the series finale against the Brewers, the Mets got walked off and lost the game 7-6. Edwin Díaz gave up a walk-off home run to Isaac Collins, giving the Mets seven straight losses and a 1-11 record in their last 12 games.
The Mets are now 5.5 games back of Philadelphia for the lead in the NL East. They hold a 1.5-game lead on the Cincinnati Reds for the final Wild Card spot.
The Rangers and former Met Omar Narvaez have agreed to a minor league deal.

Looking elsewhere in the league, the Rays have yet to discuss a contract extension with Junior Caminero, according to Marc Topkin of Tampa Bay Times. While the Rays are known for locking up young talent early, they are deviating from their strategy with Caminero.
Topkins suggests that the team has several questions marks regarding its financial future, which is making them hesitant towards extending the young star. As the team could finalize a sale in the fall, and is currently without a home stadium, it is easy to understand their financial uncertainty.
One of the cooler stories of the weekend comes out of Los Angeles. Mason Fluharty of the Blue Jays earned his first career save in a high leverage moment against the reigning world champs, and as Nick Ashbourne of Sportsnet tweeted, it might end up being a highlight of his career.
The Blue Jays led 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth with one out and the bases loaded, and up to the plate walks Shohei Ohtani. Fluharty struck him out after a nine-pitch duel to get the Dodgers to their final out. Mookie Betts grounded out to end the game, giving Fluharty a memory he’ll never forget.
On Sunday, Bryan Woo tied Hall of Famer Juan Marichal in 1968 for the most consecutive games (23) with six-plus innings and two or fewer walks to begin a season in MLB history.
Reds manager Terry Francona told reporters on Sunday that pitcher Hunter Greene is penciled in as the starter for their game on Wednesday against the Phillies.
Justin Verlander told the San Francisco Standard‘s John Shea that he wants to return to the mound in 2026.
