Good morning, Mets fans! We are just three days away from pitchers and catchers reporting to Port St. Lucie for Spring Training 2021, with their first workout scheduled for February 18 at Clover Park.

With those dates fast approaching, on Saturday the Mets announced their full Spring Training roster. In addition, it’s already been a busy week down in Port Saint Lucie. On Friday night, the St. Lucie Mets hosted a drive-by Night to Shine for the Tim Tebow Foundation and on Saturday morning, Mets players & staff distributed food to local families at Clover Park. The New York Mets on Saturday announced their full 2021 Spring Training roster. This included a list of the team’s non-roster invitees, which will once again include the aforementioned Tebow, as well as first round pick Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Per Tim Healey of Newsday, Mets president Sandy Alderson, Chelsea and Brandon Nimmo and Mets staff distributed food to 500 local families today at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The St. Lucie Mets posted photos from the event on Twitter.

The Mets announced on Saturday that Seth Lugo will undergo surgery for a loose body in his right elbow — a bone spur that broke off during his offseason workouts. Lugo will have the surgery Tuesday and then rest for six weeks before he begins throwing again.

According to MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, free agent outfielder Jay Bruce is in agreement with the New York Yankees on a minor league deal. Rosenthal adds that Bruce will earn $1.35 million if he makes the team, plus $50 thousand each for 400, 450, and 500 plate appearances.

Per Jon Heyman of MLB Network, former Mets ace Matt Harvey has a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles.

Rosenthal also confirms that free agent right-hander James Paxton is in an agreement with the Seattle Mariners on a one-year pact. Chad Dey of Sportsnet 650 was the first with the report. Heyman adds that the Mets tried for Paxton, but were outbid. Heyman expects them to now look closely at right-handers Taijuan Walker and maybe Jake Odorizzi depending on the price.

Justin Turner announced on Twitter that he is returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The deal is reportedly for two-years, $34 million with a $14 million club option for 2023.
