Good morning and happy Friday, Mets fans!

Coming off of a two-game sweep by the Red Sox at home, the Mets had the day off on Thursday. They’ll play tonight at 7:05 at Citizens Bank Park. Marcus Stroman (3-1, 2.25 ERA) will face off against the Phillies’ Chase Anderson (0-3, 6.48 ERA) in the first of a three-game series. You can catch the action on SNY, or tune into WCBS 880 AM.

The Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Bradley Roney, per Michael Mayer of MMO. The 28-year-old has a 3.42 ERA and 11.1 K/9 in the minors.

Michael also notes that Mets starter Carlos Carrasco pitched in another simulated game in Port St. Lucie on Thursday.

During the Brooklyn Cyclones media availability, Mets top pitching prospect Matt Allan noted that he’s been picking the brain on Noah Syndergaard, Seth Lugo, and Carrasco as all of them rehab in minor league camp. Allan also said he’s stayed in touch with Mets starter Marcus Stroman following conversations they had during big league camp.

Steve Cohen has been having individual dinners at his Connecticut home with Met players to learn, bond, and humanize the relationship, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The players have been encouraged to bring their significant others and agents, possibly hinting towards extension talks.

High-A affiliate of the Mets, the Brooklyn Cyclones announced that they will be available on MiLB.tv for the first time this season. Fans will be able to catch all Cyclones home games and most road games, as well as other Mets affiliates.

Former Met and Norwich native Eric Campbell will become the manager of the Norwich Sea Unicorns, per the Norwich Sea Unicorns. The Sea Unicorns play in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League as of the 2021 season.

According to ESPNs Ian Rapaport, Tim Tebow worked out for the recently source and there have been discussions of him signing him… as a tight end. The 33-year-old former NFL quarterback spent time in the Mets’ minor league system, reaching triple A by 2019 and announced his retirement from baseball this past February.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported that Wade LeBlanc has cleared outright waivers and elected free agency. He is free to sign with any major league baseball team. LeBlanc, 36, appeared in 6 games for the Orioles in 2021.

A Padres player tested positive for COVID-19 before Wednesday’s game, per Dennis Lin of The Athletic.  Since then, the team has not had any other positive test results.

The Brewers have placed right-hander Corbin Burnes on the injured list without an injury designation, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

Nick Groke of The Athletic reported that the Rockies added first baseman Matt Adams to their roster and optioned outfielder Sam Hilliard to the minors.

Bruce Levine of 670TheScore reported that White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton has been issued a one game suspension after a scuffle in a game against the Indians.

The Phillies have signed outfielder Ryan Cordell to a minor league contract, per MiLB Transactions.
