WCBS 880 AM, the radio home of the Mets, announced their Spring Training radio broadcasts on Saturday. They will be broadcasting the following games:

– Sunday, March 7 vs. the Marlins at 1 p.m.

– Sunday, March 14 vs. the Cardinals at 1 p.m.

– Friday, March 26 vs. the Nationals at 6 p.m.

– Saturday, March 27 vs. the Astros at 1 p.m.

The New York Mets officially announced on Saturday that they have signed right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker to a two-year contract with a player option for the 2023 season. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard was placed on the 60-day injured list as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery.

Walker expressed his excitement to be a Met in a tweet Saturday night: “I’m so excited to be joining the Amazin’ Mets, a legendary franchise with a rich pitching history. I can’t wait to put on that blue and orange, be a part of the team’s incredible rotation and WIN in the Big Apple,” Walker said.

Per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, veteran right-handed pitcher David Robertson threw his second showcase on Saturday in Winter Haven, Florida, and more than a dozen teams were in attendance. Robertson was said to look good, sitting 90-91 mph and touching 92 mph on multiple occasions.
