After a disappointing series against the Phillies, the Mets will look to bounce back with a three-game series vs. the Nationals starting on Tuesday night at Citi Field. New York will send righty Carlos Carrasco (0-0, 3.24 ERA) to the mound to take on Washington right-hander Paolo Espino (3-3, 3.66 ERA).
The Nats are heading into New York off a series loss at the hands of the Braves. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. and will be broadcast on WCBS 880 and WQBU 92.7. The game can also be seen on SNY.

According to the New York Post, MLB and Barstool Sports are in “significant talks” to broadcast its games. This would be Barstool’s second broadcast deal as it partnered with college football’s Arizona Bowl on July 27 to broadcast its annual bowl game.
Eloy Jiménez of the White Sox became the second MLB player ever to have two or more home runs and five or more RBIs within the first five innings in back-to-back games since the RBI became an official stat in 1920. Jiménez joins the Reds’ Lee May who became the first player to do so in 1969.

2004: Two-time Cy Young Award winner Tom Glavine lost his two front teeth and had over 40 stitches after a taxi crash on the way to Shea Stadium to start a game. Despite the loss of their scheduled starter, the Mets went on to beat the Astros, 7-3.
