Robert Gsellman earned his first victory of the season in last night’s 7-5 victory over Atlanta. It was another uneven start though for the Mets pitcher as he went 5+ innings while allowing five runs on six hits and walking one. Sandy Alderson spoke with the media prior to Monday’s game and shouldered the blame for the majority of issues that have gone down revolving Noah Syndergaard‘s partially torn lat. Alderson advised it was his idea to let the Mets ace pitch on Sunday. He also stated he has full confidence in the Mets’ medical staff and believes the criticism they have received is overblown. Michael Conforto and Jose Reyes helped propel the Mets to victory on Monday as their bats continue to heat up the lineup. Conforto went 2-for-4 on the night with a homer and three RBI, continuing to help carry this offense since he has become an everyday player.
