Good Morning Mets fans!

On Sunday afternoon, the New York Mets (61-57) fell 7-4 to the Washington Nationals (62-55), breaking their eight game win streak. Despite the loss, the Mets are still on the cusp of earning a playoff spot and are eager to begin their six game road trip.

The Mets are set to open a three game weekday series Tuesday with the Atlanta Braves (70-50) at Suntrust Park in Atlanta. Zack Wheeler (9-6, 4.20 ERA) will be taking the bump against Max Fried (13-4, 4.11 ERA). The game begins at 7:20 and can be viewed on SNY.

According to Pete Botte of the New York Post, both Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo, and veteran infielder Jed Lowrie have both been making progress with their respective injuries. There is no timetable for either of their returns but Nimmo is set to start a minor league rehab assignment sometime this week.
