Good morning Mets fans! Representatives from every MLB organization head down to Orlando tonight for the annual Winter Meetings that start tomorrow.

Yesterday, the news was largely dominated by the New York Yankees after agreeing to a deal to acquire Giancarlo Stanton and $30 million in cash from the Miami Marlins for Starlin Castro and minor leaguers Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers. This deal is still pending medicals.

Latest Mets News 

The Mets are set to meet with Jay Bruce‘s agent at the Winter Meetings according to Mike Puma.

Puma also reports that the Mets made an offer to Bryan Shaw around Thanksgiving, but he is planning to wait till after Wade Davis and/or Greg Holland sign to get the best offer possible.

Marc Carig reports that the Mets have interest in a reunion with Addison Reed and actually discussed an extension in Spring Training.

Carig also tweeted that while the Mets will contact the Marlins about Castro, it is unlikely that a deal will materialize.

Furthermore, he also reports that the Mets are willing to discuss trades for starting pitchers not named Noah Syndergaard or Jacob deGrom.

Finally, he reports that the Mets have had trade talks to acquire Jason Kipnis and Ian Kinsler, but also might make a push for Josh Harrison.
