Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday, the Mets dropped the rubber game in Atlanta falling to the Braves 7-2.

In a tie game, Steven Matz got chased in the sixth inning before recording an out after surrendering what would be the go ahead two-run homer to Josh Donaldson. This loss saw the Mets drop to four games under .500, and fourth place in the division at 8.5 back.

The amazins’ have now lost 20 of their last 26 games on the road and lead the National league with 25 losses away from home.

Unfortunately the road trip does not get any easier for the Mets tonight as they begin the first of a four game set at Wrigley field against the Chicago Cubs.

The Mets will send Walter Lockett to the mound in place of the injured Noah Syndergaard (hamstring). In four outings with the team’s Triple-A squad in Syracuse, Lockett holds an impressive 3.28 ERA. The veteran faces off against Cubs righty Tyler Chatwood.

First pitch is at 8:05 E.T. and you can catch the game on SNY.

Now let’s take a look at what else went on around the league yesterday!
