Mets took on the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday afternoon down in Port St. Lucie. Marcus Stroman took the mound and threw for two innings giving up only one run on two hits. A home run off the bat of Paul Goldschmidt gave the Cards an early 1-0 lead.

The Mets responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie it up on an RBI single from Dominic Smith to score Brandon NimmoThe pair of runs that gave the Mets the lead came from a fielder’s choice double play from Johneshwy Fargas that scored Jake Hager in the seventh, and a home run off the bat of Andres Gimenez in the eighth for a 3-2 final.

Andres Gimenez is now 4-for-12 with two extra-base hits so far this spring.
