Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets lost their first series of 2022 on Sunday when their late rally fell short in a 8-7 loss to the Seattle Mariners at Citi Field.

The Mets are right back in action on Monday when the Cardinals come to Citi Field for a four-game series. Trevor Williams will likely start in the place of the injured Tylor Megill in the first game.

Megill was placed on the injured list with right biceps tendinitis, though an MRI showed no structural damage. Right-hander reliever Colin Holderman was added to the active roster to take Megill’s place. Holderman tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts in his big league debut on Sunday.

Holderman had to take an Uber to get to the game, and didn’t arrive until the game was already being played on Sunday.

Right-hander reliever Trevor May was moved to the 60-day injured list to make room for Holderman on the 40-man roster. May was placed on the injured list in early May with a stress reaction in the lower part of his humerus bone.

Former Mets reliever Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless eighth inning in his revenge tour against the Mets.

Mets minor league submarine pitcher Tom Hackimer recently had Tommy John surgery and has begun vlogging his way through the grueling recovery.

The Reds became the second National League team in history to throw a no-hitter, but lose the game. They lost to the Pirates on Sunday with Pittsburgh scoring their run on a RBI groundout in the eighth inning. Reds rookie Hunter Greene tossed 7 1/3 hitless innings before reliever Art Warren threw 2/3 of an inning. The Reds are the only team in baseball yet to hit the 10 win plateau.

Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts told the Boston Globe that he is now open to extension talks during the season.

The Cardinals have shut down right-handed pitcher Alex Reyes with shoulder soreness.

Future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols pitched the ninth inning in the Cardinals 15-6 win on Sunday. He allowed four runs, but did finish the inning.

The Cubs have placed shortstop Nico Hoerner on the injured list and called up veteran Andrelton Simmons.
