Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Nick Castellanos all hit home runs, and the Phillies’ bullpen held off the D-Backs for a 5-3 win in Game 1 of the NLCS. Zack Wheeler allowed just two runs and three hits, walking none and striking out eight over six innings.

Twins GM Thad Levine is interviewing for the Red Sox GM job, and the two sides reportedly have a mutual interest in each other. Levine has been Minnesota’s GM since 2016.

Aaron Nola is set to hit free agency this offseason, and he spoke highly of the Phillies when asked about the possibility of re-signing with the team. Nola said it’s been special to be a part of the team’s recent success after their long rebuild.

The International Olympic Committee announced that baseball and softball will return to the Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles. Baseball was in the 2020 Olympics, where the U.S. took silver.
