Matt Harvey made his Orioles debut, allowing two earned runs on six hits and a walk in 4 2/3 innings while striking out four. While he didn’t blow anyone away, it wasn’t a bad first effort in his new uniform as Mets fans root for him from afar.

Only one more day until the Mets get to play baseball again and finally have an opening day!

Luis Rojas commented during his Saturday press conference on the All-Star game being moved out of Atlanta, via Justin Toscano of The Record. “I stand behind what the commissioner said,” Rojas said. “Anything that suppresses the voting system is – it’s just not in the rights of voting.”

Tim Healey of Newsday reported Saturday that according to Luis Rojas, Seth Lugo has been throwing for the past week and playing catch from up to 75 feet. The Mets originally set a timetable of mid-May for Lugo’s return, but he is already ahead of schedule, meaning a quicker return could be possible.

According Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic, the Washington Nationals’ latest round of COVID-19 testing showed no new positive different from the ones already determined earlier this week. They hope to be cleared to work out Sunday. Per Maria Torres of The Athletic, they were not planning to workout on Saturday. Sunday’s status is TBD based on COVID-19 testing and contract tracing results.

Ian Browne of MLB.com expressed his gratitude to the the Boston Red Sox via Twitter on Sunday. On Sunday, Boston left a spot empty in the media booth with a memorial tribute to the late Mike Shalin, who passed away during the offseason. Browne expressed the tribute as a “super sweet gesture.”

MiLB-Transactions reported Saturday that the Atlanta Braves signed left-handed pitcher Jesse Biddle to a minor league contract.

Per Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune, Pittsburgh Pirates rookie third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes exited Saturday’s game with left wrist discomfort.

According to Betsy Helfand of the Pioneer Press, the Minnesota Twins placed Josh Donaldson on the injured list. The Twins have, in turn, recalled outfielder Brent Rooker from the alternate site.

Per David O’Brien of The Athletic, the Atlanta Braves re-signed relief pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. to a minor league deal. Edwards Jr. was released toward the end of spring training camp. The Braves also signed utility infielder Yolmer Sanchez to a minor league deal. He was released by the Orioles on Tuesday.

Robert Murray of FanSided reported on Twitter Saturday that Jonathan Lucroy is in agreement to sign with the Washington Nationals.
