Jose Martinez underwent surgery for a torn meniscus on Friday, and was said to be in “good spirits” afterward.

After falling to the Nationals Saturday in a sloppy Saturday night game, the Mets will return to Clover Park this afternoon for an exhibition matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals. It will be David Peterson taking the mound for the Mets in Port St. Lucie.
