Good morning, Mets fans!

The lockout continued to disrupt Major League Baseball on Friday, as two major news pieces came out about consequences of the work stoppage.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported that MLB cancelled another week of spring training games, as they have now slashed games through March 18. This was the second straight Friday in which Spring Training games were cancelled due to the lockout.

Kiley McDaniel of ESPN reported that pro scouting has officially been shut down. This could lead to drastic changes to free agency and trades. This also led to an interesting new debate regarding the negotiations: the Rule 5 draft. McDaniel reported that MLB teams are asking to do away with the Rule 5 draft in 2022, which could have massive implications on younger players.

Koosman was a major piece of the 1969 World Series champion team, as he held down the fort in the rotation behind Tom Seaver. Over 12 seasons in Queens, Koosman tossed over 2,500 innings, and had an ERA of 3.09.
