Last Sunday when the morning briefing came out we discussed that Jeff McNeil was shut down from hitting and throwing for a few days. This week, we start with some positive news coming from McNeil that be believes he will be ready to go for Opening Day.

McNeil spoke with the media on Saturday, including Tim Healey of Newsday Sports. He told the media he’s “pretty sure” he’ll be ready for Opening Day.

According to Healey as well, the Mets are considering moving Brandon Nimmo out of the leadoff spot in the lineup.

Per Robert Murray of FanSided.com, according to sources, the San Francisco Giants placed J.D. Davis on waivers.
