Good Morning Mets Fans. The Metropolitans have a day off today but will be in action on Wednesday to take on the Miami Marlins. Both Steven Matz and Zack Wheeler are scheduled to appear in tomorrow’s Grapefruit League game.

Matt Harvey took a step forward on Monday, throwing 4.1 innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out four and tossing 74 pitches. The velocity seems to be ticking upwards as well as he averaged in the 93-94 MPH range and topped off at 96 MPH. The overall numbers on the day may not seem too great, but it is quite encouraging from what we have seen in previous outings this spring. Read more from Marc Carig in Newsday.

Jeurys Familia returned to Mets camp on Monday, as he made his way back from the World Baseball Classic. He currently awaits word from Major League Baseball on his suspension and did not want any part in speaking of the looming decision that pends. Neil Walker is said to be feeling stronger than ever this spring as he returns from back surgery this coming season. Walker is sure to be a big part of this Mets offense and the team will hope he expands on what was a nice showing in 2016. T.J. Rivera and Team Puerto Rico outlasted the Netherlands on Monday night by a score of 4-3 in 11 innings of play. Rivera homered for PR in what was another thrilling game for the World Baseball Classic. The tournament has really opened some eyes this year as an enjoyable experience.
