Today, the Mets kick off a three-game set against the Nationals with an afternoon game on Labor Day. Noah Syndergaard (9-7, 4.14 ERA) will toe the rubber against Joe Ross ( 3-3, 5.36 ERA) at 1:05 P.M. The game can be viewed on SNY and WCBS 880.

Last night, Pete Alonso tied the league lead with his 43th homer of the season, but the Mets bullpen faltered late in their 5-2 loss. Marcus Stroman had his best start in a Mets uniform, going six innings and allowing only two runs.

Wilson Ramos extended his MLB-best hitting streak to 25 games.

The Mets activated Brandon Nimmo from the 60-day IL and DFA’d Donnie Hart to make space in the roster for him. Nimmo drew a walk in his first MLB plate appearance since late May.
